1948 “CJ-2A” – Restofurbish

Alright after a bit of a delay work has begone on the other jeep for this trip, the ‘48 CJ-2A.

Here’s what we’re starting with:

The 1948 CJ-2A before the restoration.

Now with the date for the trip moved up to July 15, i started to feel the pressure. Time to get crackin’.

The Dissassembly

This is pretty much how the frame looked before. Not too shabby, just a little rough around the edges. On to the body tub, which is also in fairly decent shape:

Prepping the Frame for Paint

The next step was to get the frame ready to be shot with primer and paint. thanks go out to paul and trevor for stepping in to lend a hand with all the wire-wheeling.

there was some pretty nasty stuff floating around in the shop after cleaning that frame. the next stage is to hit it with a coat of primer.

and the frame with it’s final coat of enamel on it:

alright on to the axles and drivetrain…
