(page 2) motor arrives and parts jeep

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
finially a new update, it’s been awhile and the frame sat in my driveway for about three months while we gathered the motivation and fundage to continue. if you haven’t read somewhere else in the site this is one of the jeeps we are getting road worth for a cross country drive in august. now there’s a date so everyday feels like crunch time. just need to make the bucks to pay for the essentials now. SPONSERS WELCOME! haha
so there is finially a motor. courtesy of Mr. Meyeriecks (thanks alot dude) and his friends/coworkers over at B&B machine shop once again saving my hide and making the second of two motors happen for me in 07′. thanks again.
chiggity check it:
225 “the angry pumpkin” special225 block
dubbed the angry pumpkin/jack-o-lantern from hell. this is a buick odd-fire 225 block out of a mid sixties commando. we pulled it out of charolettsville back in september. of course on the return trip with 2 engines in the cargo of my cherokee the engine that was actually running finially died as the head gasket blew and overheated. but that’s another story.
sometime in december evan carted my 225 off to B&B and it came back bored .30 over, with a ground crank to stroke it out, stuffed with high compression aluminum pistions, the cam spun by a double roller timing chain with roller rockers. the cylinder heads recieved high cut valves and hardened seats bringing this motor from a stock 160hp rating to somewhere between the low to mid 200’s…wheelie bar not included.
the frame still needed attention in the form of new spring pivots welded on and the rest of the finial welding completed. i salvaged all 4 spring plates from scrapped axles w. springs still bolted to them and welded on new bolts to mount the shocks. once that was all done we finially got a chance to bolt up the shiney D44& D25. along with the completely new tie rods and bellcrank. which will soon be arguably the most responsive ross cam & lever steering in the county (not saying much)
welding spring plates and prepping the plates (no i’m not grinding the back of the drawbar, i’m clamping stuff to it to weld)
here are various picture of axle/steering bolt up progress:
with the help of the remaining lug nuts and studs due in by the end of the week this will be a steerable rolling chassis. next up is putting that motor on w. trans and Tcase driveshafts are already done.
stuff to get:
ignition,headers,fuel tank pump and lines, rad. and hoses that’ll get this thing running along with plugs and wires alternator and maybe a belt to spin it all.
then to brakes, master cylinder already on hand.
